This Gottlieb Jungle pinball machine is an American electromechanical machine produced in 1972, of which fewer than 6,000 were sold. Its jungle theme features characters, wild animals and tropical vegetation on the backglass and playfield, in the orange, green and red tones characteristic of Gottlieb machines from this period. The machine accommodates up to four players simultaneously and is set to free play mode.
The machine has been fully serviced in our workshops: the mechanics have been checked, the electronics tested, and all game components are in working order. The cabinet retains its original patina with vibrant colours and a well-maintained visual appearance, without any excessive restoration. The backglass and playfield are in a condition consistent with the machine’s age.
This 1972 Gottlieb ‘Jungle’ pinball machine is equally at home in a private games room, a pub, a collector’s gallery or a commercial space with a vintage theme. A limited-edition American collector’s item, refurbished and ready to play.

Electromechanical pinball machines represent the first major generation of commercial pinball, produced primarily between the 1950s and the late 1970s, before being superseded by solid-state systems and then digital technologies. Their operation relies on relays, coils, and purely mechanical mechanisms to manage scoring, sounds, and gameplay elements — with no printed circuit board or microprocessor. This design, demanding in terms of maintenance, gives these machines a distinctive sonic and tactile character that collectors prize for its authenticity.
D. Gottlieb & Co., founded in Chicago in 1927, is one of the pioneers of the modern pinball machine and the manufacturer that contributed most to codifying the standards of play during the electromechanical era. Its productions of the 1970s, of which Jungle is a part, are distinguished by the quality of their illustrated backglasses, the robustness of their mechanics, and the variety of their themes. With production runs often below 10,000 units, these machines are today sought after by collectors worldwide.
1972 Gottlieb ‘Jungle’ electromechanical pinball machine, of which fewer than 6,000 were produced in the United States, fully refurbished, in collector’s condition, 4-player free play mode.
