Founded in 1985, the Leblon Delienne workshop has established itself as a French reference in “pop sculpture”, translating emblematic characters from comics and animation into resin art objects. After working on Tintin, the company developed a close collaboration with Disney, becoming an official licensee for a wide range of characters. This partnership allows it to revisit Mickey, Minnie, Bambi and of course Scrooge McDuck in contemporary interpretations, playing with sizes, colours and chromed or matte finishes.
The Disney creations by Leblon Delienne are characterised by a balance between faithfulness to the original drawing and a strong decorative bias. Volumes are simplified, surfaces carefully polished and colour palettes often reduced to a few strong tones to interact with the world of design. The series based on Scrooge McDuck, particularly the versions standing on ingots, illustrates this approach: the character retains his graphic identity while becoming a sculptural object, designed to fit into a contemporary interior as well as into a playful art collec
