This Changeman Bandai 1984 statue is a life-size figure of the robot Change Robo, from the Japanese series Dengeki Sentai Changeman. Measuring 2 metres in height, it is made entirely from thermoformed material under official Bandai licence in Japan in the mid-1980s. The decoration faithfully reproduces the robot's visual codes: primary blue body structured with red, yellow and white stripes, characteristic yellow eyes, two-tone pointed head and "BANDAI" written in white on a red background on the torso. The Change Robo is a giant robot combining three vehicles - a speedboat, a truck and a helicopter - whose geometric silhouette has been restored to its original proportions.
The thermo-formed construction ensures relative lightness despite the imposing dimensions of the piece. The surface details are meticulous: silver-textured circular elements on the shoulders, geometric panels on the legs and pelvis, and a black base with yellow edging. The piece is presented in very good overall condition, with no noticeable deformation or fracture of the structure.

The Super Sentai series, including Dengeki Sentai Changeman, form one of the pillars of this catalogue, with combining robots that have become references in the world of Japanese toys.
The promotional and display objects produced by Bandai during the 1980s, including life-size statues intended for retail outlets and trade shows, were manufactured in very limited quantities. Designed for short-term commercial use, these pieces have rarely been preserved in good condition. They stand today as rare testimonies to the golden age of Japanese toys, at the intersection of pop culture, industrial design and the history of the tokusatsu medium.
