This Japanese enamelled plaque OSAWAEN is an original and rare piece, imported from Japan. Double-sided, it was used at the time as an advertisement for the Osawaen tea house (大澤園), highlighting the quality of its tea through the slogan: "For mountains, it's Mount Fuji, for tea, it's Osawaen".
The design of the plaque is particularly striking: Mount Fuji is beautifully depicted, accompanied by the large red character 茶 (cha, meaning tea) and the old local telephone number TEL 49. These details reinforce the authenticity and history of the object, making this plate both a decorative and iconic rarity.
