This Nortwestern Peanut Dispenser is an authentic American model produced in Chicago, Illinois, dating from 1970. Emblematic of bar counters and 'd diners' across the Atlantic, it has benefited from a complete and meticulous restoration in our workshops. Its glossy red finish, personalised with Coca-Cola logos, makes it an attractive, pop piece of decoration, ready to take pride of place in a kitchen or games room.
The internal mechanics are in perfect working order: the coin mechanism, now "open access" (requiring no special parts), can be used to dispense peanuts, sweets or chewing gum simply by turning the chrome handle. The robust structure combines a heavy metal body with its original globe, preserving the historical integrity of the object while giving it a bright new lease of life.
The original markings are clearly visible, attesting to the Northwestern Corporation's provenance and manufacturing quality. This Nortwestern Peanut Dispenser is not a mere reproduction, but a true piece of popular entertainment history, combining retro charm with immediate playful utility for young and old alike.

Vending machines, or “gumball machines”, have been an integral part of the American urban landscape since the early 20th century. Strategically placed in grocery stores, gas stations, and bars, they offered a small treat for a few cents, becoming familiar landmarks for generations of children and adults. Northwestern, based in Morris (Illinois), is one of the historic giants of this industry, renowned for the indestructible reliability of its mechanisms.
In the 70s, these devices adopted more square and functional lines, reflecting the industrial design of the era. By restoring it in Coca-Cola colors, we marry two legends of American culture. This object tells of a time when consumption was simple, mechanical, and tangible, evoking the characteristic sound of treats falling into the metal flap.
