This SNCF railway signalling light from the 1960s has been completely restored in our workshops and converted into a table lamp. The original Fresnel lens is preserved and functional, diffusing a blue light characteristic of railway lights. The original protective cap is still in place, the brass screws have been carefully fitted, and the back plate has been given a beautifully executed mirror polish finish. The SNCF Égée logo is engraved into the body of the unit.
The whole unit rests on a stable rectangular chrome base, which positions the lamp at a height suitable for decorative indoor use. The proportions of this SNCF railway signalling light are ideal for a coffee table, a piece of lounge furniture or a console table, making it just as at home in an industrial interior as in a contemporary setting.

The so-called “Égée” logo was adopted by SNCF in 1992, designed by the agency Carré Noir. It replaced the “Carmillon” logo of the 1970s and served as the company’s visual identity for over twenty years, until the introduction of a new logotype in 2011. Its distinctive lettering and deep blue color are closely associated with the image of French rail at the close of the 20th century.
Railway signal lights of this generation, manufactured in steel and fitted with Fresnel lenses, were designed for maximum visibility at long range. Their durability ensured a long service life across the network, and it is precisely this build quality that makes them highly sought-after bases for conversion into distinctive decorative lighting.
