This Acorn Coca-Cola vending machine is an authentic American-made peanut vending machine dating from 1950. It retains its original glass globe, its period coin mechanism in perfect working order, and its original key. The machine has undergone a complete restoration in our workshops, with the metal body repainted in Coca-Cola’s iconic colours and lettering, featuring ‘Ice Cold’ banners and the distinctive script logo.
The meticulous restoration has restored the bodywork to its former glory, with a deep red lacquer finish and crisp Coca-Cola graphics faithful to the original design. The coin mechanism works perfectly, as does the dispensing flap. A complete, fully functional Acorn dispenser, restored to such a high standard of authenticity, is now hard to find on the American vintage market.
This Acorn Coca-Cola vending machine will appeal to collectors of Coca-Cola promotional items and memorabilia, as well as enthusiasts of vintage bar, diner or kitchen décor. Bar peanut vending machines from the 1950s, in such a fully restored condition, are becoming increasingly rare.

In American bars, grocery stores, and pool halls of the mid-20th century, coin-operated peanut dispensers such as those made by the Acorn brand were part of the familiar furniture. Placed on a counter, they offered a handful of salted peanuts for a few cents, accompanying the consumption of cold drinks and becoming a social ritual as much as an advertising medium for the brands that dressed them.
Coca-Cola, an iconic brand of American popular culture, invested widely in this type of medium to embed its presence in convivial spaces, associating its “Ice Cold” slogan and script lettering with everyday objects accessible to all. These Acorn dispensers in Coca-Cola colors, now restored and sought after by collectors, stand as testimony to the golden age of counter-top advertising and American bar culture of the 1950s.
