Namisen (波線) is a Japanese contemporary artist born in 1998 in the suburbs of Osaka. Mastering the traditional art of Japanese calligraphy (Shodō), she holds the prestigious title of Shihan (師範), the highest rank in this discipline. After studying at the Nagoya School of Fine Arts and influenced by artist Ernst Kolb, Namisen has developed a distinctive style characterized by chiaroscuro portraits composed of fine intertwined lines.
Her works often depict figures from popular culture, such as anime and manga characters, film icons, or American icons. Since 2022, she has been collaborating exclusively with the artistic label Mind The Gap and has notably participated in projects with the renowned Swiss watchmaker Corum.
