This Bayard fire hydrant comes from the workshops of the Bayard factory, founded in Lyon in 1881 and specialising in the production of cast-iron urban hydraulic equipment. The model shown dates from the 1950s, when Bayard delivered its first large series of fire hydrants to French local authorities.
The piece is made of solid cast iron, with its two side outlets and its original front cap. The inscriptions "Bayard - Lyon" are cast in the mass, typical of the company's products. The sober, contrasting grey polished finish highlights the precision of the foundry work.
The set is complete and in perfect condition, with the circular base, top cap and side fittings intact. An object of trade furniture with great decorative potential, suitable for an industrial interior, a commercial space or an exterior entrance.
