This large Anduze pottery vase stands out for its monumental dimensions: 80 cm high and 70 cm in diameter. It adopts the classic silhouette of the Anduze vase: a wide opening with an upturned lip, a generous body that flares out towards the bottom and sits on a moulded circular base. The honey-amber glaze, with tobacco-brown pours and touches of green, gives the curves the chromatic depth typical of Gard production. On the front, a neat relief decoration combines garlands of flowers, ribbon bows and a central medallion bearing the stamp of the Anduze factory with its coat of arms - all the markings are clearly legible.
The glaze is continuous, with no chips or cracks, and retains all its original brilliance. The decorative reliefs are clear, with no wear or restoration. For a vase of this size and age, the completeness and integrity of the piece are exceptional, and clearly distinguish it from the majority of examples on the brocante and collector's markets.
This large Anduze pottery vase will appeal to collectors of regional French ceramics as well as interior designers and landscape architects looking for a signature piece for a hall, terrace or garden with character. Monumental Anduze vases in perfect condition are now impossible to find in antique shops and auction houses - they are becoming increasingly rare.

Anduze pottery is one of the most iconic ceramic productions in France. Born in the seventeenth century in the town of Anduze, in the Gard region, this pottery owes its characteristic form to the influence of Medici vases imported from Italy, adapted by the master potters of the Cévennes to meet the demands of the great formal French gardens. From 1640 onwards, Anduze vases adorned royal gardens, and Cardinal de Bonzi had several hundred delivered for the pathways of the Château de Castries. Their silhouette — a bulbous body, flared neck and moulded pedestal — has remained unchanged ever since.
The historic manufacturers of Anduze continue to this day the throwing and glazing techniques passed down from generation to generation. The honey, green and tobacco-brown glaze obtained by layering metallic oxides fired at high temperature remains the irreplaceable signature of these pieces. During the 1970s and 1990s, several workshops still produced large-format pieces for parks, private mansions and collectors, before progressive industrialization gradually reduced the artisanal production of monumental formats. These period large vases, authentically thrown and glazed in Anduze, are now sought after as heritage works of southern France.
Large Anduze pottery vase (80×70 cm), amber glaze with characteristic green highlights, medallion and garlands in relief, clearly visible factory markings. Original manufacture, impeccable condition, rare piece in this size and condition.
