This Bayard hydrant is a piece of French street furniture dating from the 1920s, part of Lyon's typical fire-fighting equipment of the period. Made from cast iron, it has a three-outlet structure: two side outlets with symmetrical brass connections and a central front outlet with a square key set in a brass frame. The name "BAYARD" is moulded in relief in a diamond-shaped cartouche on the shaft, flanked by the official markings of the city of Lyon. The ribbed top and widened base bear witness to the care taken over the design of these roadside items.

The bollard has been restored and given a gunmetal finish - a deep blue-black hue with metallic reflections characteristic of oil-treated cast iron - which highlights the texture and relief of the original casting. The brass elements have been preserved and have a natural golden patina, providing a marked visual contrast with the dark body of the piece. It stands on a steel base to ensure its stability indoors.

This Bayard fire hydrant will appeal to lovers of antique street furniture, collectors of French industrial objects from the early 20th century and lovers of loft or industrial décor looking for a characterful piece with a strong presence. A complete copy, with no missing parts.
