The Gueneau pilot's helmet comes in its original military khaki colour, in thermoformed composite with a domed crown. The large tinted panoramic visor offers full face protection and can be raised by means of a sliding mechanism. On the left-hand side, a riveted aluminium side plate bears an ivory locking button typical of Gueneau production at the time. A microphone on an articulated metal bracket is attached to the chinstrap, along with all the connection wiring and the original khaki webbing chinstrap harness.
The item is in almost mint condition, which is exceptional for a piece of this age: the composite cap shows no cracks or delamination, and the visor is intact and retains all its transparency. Both visors (clear and tinted), the microphone, the harnesses and all the wiring are present and functional. The completeness of this example places it at the very top of what can be found on the military aviation collection market.
This Gueneau pilot's helmet is aimed at collectors of military aeronautical equipment, aviation enthusiasts from the 1950s-1970s and decorators specialising in the military world. Gueneau helmets complete with all their original accessories are now extremely hard to find in good condition on the French and international secondary markets.

Les casques de pilote militaires français connaissent leur essor dans les années 1950-1960, période de modernisation intensive de l’Armée de l’Air française après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La maison Gueneau, établissement français spécialisé dans l’équipement aéronautique et de protection, devient l’un des fournisseurs référencés de l’aviation militaire nationale, produisant des casques en composite destinés aux pilotes de chasse, de transport et d’hélicoptère de l’OTAN. Ces équipements répondent aux normes strictes de l’époque en matière de protection balistique, phonique et de communication embarquée.
Les années 1960 marquent l’apogée de ces casques intégraux à visière panoramique, conçus pour les cockpits de la nouvelle génération de jets français — Dassault Mystère, Étendard, puis Mirage III. Le système de micro sur potence et le câblage intégré permettent une communication claire malgré les fortes nuisances sonores des moteurs à réaction. Aujourd’hui, ces équipements authentiques sont sortis des inventaires militaires et constituent des témoignages matériels de l’aviation de guerre froide française, très prisés dans les cercles de collectionneurs spécialisés en aéronautique militaire.
