This Holophane white coffee table is a unique creation made from an old Holophane urban lighting ball in prismatic glass. The ball has been cut in half, then reassembled to form the base of the table, with a circular top in veined white marble positioned at the top. The whole thing rests in a stable position, with a natural curve that is reminiscent of the proportions of a top-of-the-range occasional table.
Discreet LED lighting is integrated inside the ball, controlled by a switch. When switched on, the prismatic glass diffuses a soft, structured light, highlighting the facets of the glass and creating a decorative lighting effect in the room. The veining of the white marble provides a noble material that contrasts with the geometric texture of the glass, for a result that's both raw and neat.
This Holophane white coffee table is equally at home as a coffee table, bedside table or occasional table in a loft, studio or contemporary setting. Each piece is unique, taken from an original Holophane globe, making it a functional decorative object with its own character, difficult to reproduce identically.
