This Bayard wall-mounted hydrant is based on an old hydrant from the town of Buire in Hauts-de-France. Made entirely from cast iron, it has been given a mirror-polished finish in our workshops, revealing the quality of the metal and the precision of the original relief. The inscriptions "Poste Incendie" (Fire Station), the "Bayard" brand and the name "Buire" are stamped in the mass and perfectly legible.

A wall-mounting system has been integrated, making installation simple and secure without altering the piece. The cast iron retains its original robustness and the geometry characteristic of French urban equipment from the early 20th century.

This wall-mounted Bayard bollard is equally at home in an industrial interior, a loft-style space or a predominantly urban or street art decor. A heritage item with an identified provenance.

The Bayard company, founded in Saint-Chamond in the Loire, established itself during the 19th century as one of France’s leading manufacturers of firefighting equipment. Its cast iron hydrants, deployed across French municipalities from the second half of the 1800s onward, are recognizable by their raised markings and the solidity of their construction. They were installed in major cities and rural communes alike, forming a unified civil safety network across the entire territory.

The town of Buire, in the Hauts-de-France region, is among the many municipalities that relied on Bayard equipment to secure their fire water distribution network. Built to last, these hydrants have passed through several generations without losing their structural integrity — which explains why they remain highly sought-after objects in the urban salvage market today.

Antique cast-iron Bayard wall-mounted bollard, originally a French fire hydrant, restored to a mirror-polished finish for a vintage wall decoration.
