This American-made Bennett Shell petrol pump, dating from 1950, is a double-sided model in its original Shell colours. It retains its enamelled nameplates, its nozzles and its opaline globe in the brand’s colours – which is also double-sided – as well as all its original markings. The pump and its globe have been fitted with a backlit system, recreating the characteristic lighting atmosphere of American petrol stations from the 1950s.
The comprehensive restoration was carried out whilst deliberately preserving the bodywork’s original patina, resulting in an authentic, well-worn look rather than a brand-new finish. Every original component — nameplates, nozzles, globe — has been retained, making this example particularly faithful to its period condition and a rarity on the market for complete, fully functional vintage petrol pumps.
