This Gasboy Oilzum petrol pump is a 1950s American model in its wide-body version, which is rarer than the standard models. It features an elegant cream-white finish accented with orange, with the Oilzum Motor Oils logo adorned with its famous character wearing a cap. The original polished stainless-steel fascia bears the ‘Gasboy’ lettering cast into the metal, above the roller-type fuel gauge. It is topped by a backlit, double-sided Gulf opaline globe and comes complete with its nozzle and hose.
The complete restoration carried out in our workshops has restored it to a dazzling finish whilst preserving all the original markings, which remain perfectly legible. The chrome parts, the stainless steel plate and the mechanical components have been refurbished, resulting in a cohesive and immaculate whole. A wide-body Gasboy pump, restored to this standard of authenticity, is a rare find on the American vintage market.

Founded in the United States in the 1920s, Gasboy specialized in fuel pumps for vehicle fleets, garages, and service stations, with a robust construction and a recognizable stainless steel band bearing its name. During the 1950s, as the automobile became a symbol of American consumer society, these pumps multiplied along the country’s roads, with bodywork in the colors of each brand or distributor.
Oilzum, an American motor oil brand whose cap-wearing mascot has remained iconic, and Gulf, the oil company with its orange and blue logo, both left their mark on the service station landscape of the era. A Gasboy pump in Oilzum colors, topped with a Gulf globe, evokes the world of American garages of the mid-20th century — today sought after by collectors of vintage petroleum objects and automotive decoration enthusiasts.
