Set of lawn bowls HENSELITE Complete with original carry bag
🔥 Pièce unique – 1 exemplaire disponible
This set of lawn bowls comprises four Henselite ‘Super Grip’ lawn bowls, in their original burgundy faux-leather bag featuring two handles and a zip fastening, with a label holder bearing the former owner’s name. The black bowls, with a smooth surface and concentric engravings, feature central inlays in different colours – red, white and yellow – one of which bears the inscription ‘English Fire Service’. Their slightly asymmetrical shape, characteristic of lawn bowls, gives them the curved trajectory typical of the game.
The set is complete and retains its original patina: the bowls show the normal signs of wear expected from equipment used on grass, with legible engravings and the inlays still in place, whilst the bag remains supple, with its fastening still in working order. A complete set of lawn bowls with its period bag is an interesting piece for collectors of British sporting equipment.
This set of lawn bowls will appeal to enthusiasts of traditional British sports, collectors of club memorabilia and interior designers seeking an original piece for an interior with an English club atmosphere, a bar or a library. The bowls can be displayed on a shelf or used for a game on the grass.

Lawn bowls is a precision sport extremely popular in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries, played on perfectly maintained grass surfaces known as greens. The principle is straightforward: roll your bowls as close as possible to a small white ball, the jack. The bowls, designed with a slight bias, follow a curved trajectory that demands touch and strategy — which gives the game its particular subtlety.
Henselite, a brand founded in Australia in the 20th century, is one of the most respected bowl manufacturers in the world, particularly known for its moulded resin models such as the Super Grip, which replaced the older wooden bowls. These bowls, often personalised with club or institution badges — as here with the “English Fire Service” — are today sought after by collectors of sporting equipment and enthusiasts of British-style decoration.
